As a real estate agent and entrepreneur several times over, Shelton has a love and passion for serving others and being her best self. This mother of two young toddlers, a fun loving wife and magnetic spiritual being is elegant, savvy and has a great sense of humor. Read more to learn about Shelton and how she balances two toddlers, a thriving business and self care.

How does spirituality impact your business?

Spirituality is a huge part of my business! Knowing and believing that everything is exactly the way it should be and whatever happens is meant to be. I must always reiterate that to clients on a daily basis and remind myself! I pray a lot and God is most important in my life, it helps me to stay grounded and focus on faith, not fear.

How do you stay motivated through the ups and downs of owning your own business?

The state I try to stay in is 'positron'! I was managing a luxury clothing boutique (16 years ago) in Charlotte, NC when I came up with that term and it's stuck ever since... kind of my mantra! I pray, I listen to Tony Robbins' incantations, I set goals, and I'm a huge believer in manifesting! Another way I motivated is to stay consistent. This year I started 'Wilder Wednesdays', a short weekly video series that I post on my social media and website. It keeps me on track putting out content each week for my followers. Support from others is a major part of my business... I can't do it alone. I have an assistant, a real estate coach, and the most impressive managers at Teles Properties that guide me along the way.

What would you tell the younger you just starting her business?

Patience... real estate is a very long term game. I plan to still be selling when I'm 95. (Betty White is my idol.) It takes some time for people to trust you with the biggest investment of their lives. Gratefully, I've stayed in the game and am reaping the benefits. My passion is helping others, that has always been the case ever since my first job at Benetton (clothing store). My fashion styling background and real estate are so connected because it is all about people and listening to their needs and assisting. Making my clients comfortable and informed is my strength, so I would probably tell my younger self to keep connecting with people, especially since its my favorite part of my business!

How do you balance your clients, professional projects and personal commitments?

My philosophy is "the more you have to do, the more you get done." I stay very involved all the time, and I like it this way. Real estate gives me a legible schedule so I can arrange appointments around my darling boys (one and three). Also, I'm very blessed to have a hands-on husband that helps tremendously!

What has been your biggest challenge and how did you overcome?

This might sound very Pollyanna 'Positron' of me, but the truth is that every challenge I've faced has been my biggest growth opportunity. Putting my clothing line 'on hold' and starting my new career was a big decision, but the best ever! Not feeing like a 'failure' was a challenge, but I'm not a failure and the business was a success, I'm just in a new season of my life and have found my true calling! All of my experiences have helped me to get where I am today!
