I’m noticing a deeper pattern underneath the burnout that I see in a lot of my high achieving clients...
Burnout is not just from working too much.
Burnout is a maladaptive response to conscious or unconscious trauma.
No matter what the trauma is (conscious, unconscious), if you experienced it at some point and it landed in your mind, body, heart, you most likely created coping mechanisms of “burning out” because it was hard to know when to stop. To know when to stop drinking, eating, exercising, drugging, working, cleaning, achieving.
One of the misconceptions I see in a lot of coaching platforms is mistaking burnout as simply a choice and a mindset shift. Transforming burnout is not just a matter of not working as much, sleeping more, eating better, scrolling less.
It’s about addressing the reasons why we think we have to work, why we think we can’t stop, why we are okay with depleting ourselves. It’s about finding ways to “be with” and “process” the discomfort that bubbles up to the surface when we stop and sit with ourselves. Its about reconnecting ourselves back into Source energy, and learning to surrender ourselves to trust in Source. It’s about slowly, sustainably, and respectfully clearing, healing, and reprogramming that we are safe, we are enough, we are lovable on all levels of consciousness.
I’ve been told by business wizards to create something short, quick, easy. Nope. That doesn’t align for me. I might not be the most popular when I say this... I have never seen real change happen overnight.
I do not see this in watching people build a business, get sober, heal their bodies, create a baby. It all takes time. To me, there is no superficial or fast way to have sustainable, long term transformation. So if you want to get started, I have a few practical ways to start next week...
